Be Your Own Advocate!

No one knows you better than you do.  Being your own advocate can provide the best solutions to any problems you may be facing at school.  How can you advocate for yourself?

●Be a problem solver.  If you have an issue you are facing, create a solution and present it to your teacher or parent in a respectful manner.

●Find someone who can help you.  If you feel sad, angry, or upset often seek out your school guidance counselor or psychologist.

●Know yourself.  Try to have self-awareness.  Are you a perfectionist?  Are you disorganized?  Understand that everyone has something they would like to improve.  Figure out your area and research how to make it better.
